Something feels odd about a Christian prophetic influencer posting an apology about how they heard God wrong about Trump, but then advertising their next conference on the prophetic and how to hear God’s voice on the next post. Don’t get me wrong- it’s super important to learn how to hear God’s voice, but I feel like Christianity has spiraled so far into a business over the last few years that it perpetuated a culture that made it very difficult to admit that they might have heard God incorrectly earlier in the game. It’s a lot harder to be humble when all your income, ministry and reputation hinge on making money off of writing and producing worship songs, speaking at conferences, writing books, selling merch and being right. I feel like this is a season of God turning the tables in the temple once again- it’s time for the Church to get back to the heart of worship and what really matters.
