LESSON TWOMAJOR EQUIPMENT & INSTRUMENTATIONThis lesson contains a description of each piece of equipment, its purpose, an explanation of each of the process control schemes, alarms for maintaining operating parameters, and pertinent manual controls (hand switches). The alarm system will alert operating personnel of current or impending upset conditions related to temperature, pressure, flow, level or mechanical and human error and are designed to give the operator enough time for corrective action. (Interlock sequences used to protect the equipment in the event of uncontrolled conditions will be discussed in a separate section).
