This entire cast was extremely talented, but I feel like the actor who portrayed Cao Pi deserves a special shoutout. He did such a great job portraying Cao Pi's inner motivations and thoughts, even though Cao Pi rarely actually talked about them out loud. There was so much going on with just the subtle twitches of his face, little twists of his lips or tiny quirks of his eyebrows, you could really see the gears turning constantly behind the mask that he put on for the rest of the world.I especially loved how well he and the actor portraying Sima Yi played off of each other, since Sima Yi always saw through Cao Pi's false mask and straight through to his true self. And I loved how you could tell that Cao Pi was kind of impressed and threatened by that at the same time, and how he kinda wanted to embrace it, but he knew he couldn't afford to do so for his own safety. Their interactions were among my favorite scenes in the entire show.
