In the work of using interactive technology to help students understand the greenhouse effect and global warming, the middle school students' understanding of the greenhouse effect and global warming was first investigated. Then designed and perfected a technologically enhanced course module called "Global Warming: Virtual Earth". In the module activity, students conduct virtual experiments through the visual greenhouse effect. They analyze the data and draw conclusions about how individual variables affect changes in the earth’s temperature. They also conduct investigations to establish connections between scientific processes, social science issues, and opinions raised by the media. The results showed that participating in the work improved students' understanding of science. We discuss how students integrate their ideas about global climate change through the use of virtual experiments so that they can explore the meaningful complexity of the climate system.
