Update from today:Inducto blew 1 SCR that I replaced and had it run for 5min when it blew the same SCR. There is a problem on this side of the inverter. I invited phoenix Induction in to help trouble shoot the root cause tomorrow morning between 7 and 8am. The Ajax will be able to pour the majority of the floor off tomorrow with 1 heat of CF8 and 1 Heat of CF8M as we work on the Inducto. There is only 1 spare SCR so we will need to tread lightly before we start it. I have attached an e-mail chain for the people we used to have 8 SCR's and 8 Diodes (Inverter side) and 8 SCR for the bridge side for spares on our old Bradley unit. I walked John and Carlos through the diagnostics of the SCR/Diodes while I did it. Inductotherm service did some good work on this recently but it has had an overheating problem since it was worked on. (From what I was told & observed with the new parts) Some 1/2" non-conductive hose is needed and some acid flushing of the cooling lines. I can set up a small pump in a garbage pail (very simple) down the road that will keep the lines clear. I will also bring my phone inferred camera with me tomorrow that I used weekly to watch for hot spots starting. Very good PM tool for maintenance guy(s)Equipment was brought in today for painting improvements and I will push for this to be installed and used. Dan was excited to see it all. I will be at the shop at 7am with 304L plate so they can use in the Ajax. (No material at PA) I kept a weekly inventory of all and every consumable in spreadsheet form so that we did not run out of things and it was easy to manage. Heat sheet consumption was entered daily so that we were ahead of usage and not running out along with not over ordering and messing up cash flow. Anyway, talk soon.
