A gold recovery of 83.6% was achieved after 48 hours from a calculated head grade of 0.09 g/t Au, producing a residue grade of 0.02 g/t Au. Cyanide and lime consumptions were fairly low at 0.11 kg/t and 0.38 kg/t of flotation tailings respectively despite high recoveries. Cyanide and lime consumptions based on original feed are 0.31 kg/t and 0.09 kg/t, respectively. Gold leach kinetics of the flotation tailings were very fast and the gold extraction reached 83.6% within 3 hours.Overall, the flotation tailings responded well to cyanidation and have amenability to the standard cyanidation methods. However, it should be noted that the flotation tailings contains very low gold content, and it is likely not feasible to perform cyanidation on the tailings stream to extract the remaining gold.
