7.2.2 Measurement of dry film thickness Coating thickness restriction Level 3 shall be considered as per SSPC-PA 2. Only dry film thickness measuring devices working on the basis of magnetic inductive or eddy current techniques acc. ISO 2808 are permitted for the dry film thickness measurement. Acceptance criteria for paint coatings as per 19840, unless otherwise agreed. The thickness of ESI zinc coatings shall not exceed 100 µm (or the maximum coating thickness specified by the PAINT MANUFACTURER) because of a possible lack of cohesive strength. 7.3 Reference areas CONTRACTOR recommends the preparation of reference areas in coordination with PAINT MANUFACTURER. In this case all applications shall be recorded, and the record shall be submitted to CONTRACTOR. Reference areas shall be in areas allowing access without need for lifting platforms, scaffolds, ladders or other auxiliary equipment. CONTRACTOR reserves the right to perform spot checks. 7.4 Final inspection and documentation MANUFACTURER shall maintain a complete construction logbook with regular entries on progress (date and page numbering) from the start of work and during the whole time of surface preparation and coating. The logbook, records and plans shall be submitted to CONTRACTOR unrequested, regularly and together with the documentation. The following data shall be recorded at least: Surface preparation, Surface roughness, Execution time and duration of all single work steps, Atmospheric & surface temperature, Relative humidity, Names of staff carrying out the work. After completion of coating work, final inspection together with CONTRACTOR shall be carried out in accordance with Aceptance Sheet "Corrotion protection – final acceptance at SITE" (Form 3). All Acceptance Sheets (Forms 1-3) shall be included in the documentation.
