This may be done “automatically” on some units, with a “beep” tone indicating that the radio’s battery is charged and working. ÿ Be sure carrying case and other accessories are in good condition. ÿ Report any physical defects or electronic malfunctions at once. ÿ Keep radios away from water, chemicals, etc. that could damage or short out the radio. ÿ Do not use the radio as anything other than a communication device. ÿ A radio is not a hammer, or a weapon. ÿ Never let an unauthorized person handle the radio. ÿ Do not let another security Guard “borrow” your radio. If another employee requires communications, do it for them. ÿ Handle the radio with care, as it may save your life or someone else’s one day
