A real-time license plate image acquisition system based on field programmable door array (FPGA) and OV7660 camera control VGA display is proposed. Using Altera's Cyclone IV series EP4C6E0F17 as the core control chip, according to hierarchical modeling ideas, the system is divided into PLL divider module, I2C register configuration module, I2C drive module, camera image acquisition module, SDRAM data storage module, VGA timing control module and top-level module, and the use of Veralog HDL design to achieve each functional module. Finally, the license plate image acquisition and real-time display system is successfully completed, which has certain generality and promotion value.
