The Electronic Stability Control system shall be calibrated to optimize vehicle performance while executing a 70 kph double lane change on packed snow or wet basalt per GMW15126 or equivalent test maneuver. Evaluator(s) will work with supplier(s) to ensure at least a GMUTS rating of 8 performing each maneuver. The following phase plot depicting vehicle side slip angle and vehicle side slip angle rate of change shall be used as guidance to balance vehicle directional control and maximum entry speed. All test runs shall fall within the oversteer boundary and should pass through one of the steerability areas. The oversteer boundary is defined with an elliptical equation (x^1.25/a^1.25)+(y^1.25/b^1.25) = 1 where a is defined as the maximum vehicle side slip angle allowed at zero vehicle side slip angle rate and b is defined as the maximum vehicle side slip angle rate allowed at zero vehicle side slip angle.
