Carl Schütz & Co. was a German optics company based inCassel (old spelling until 1926). The company isFounded in early 1900.In 1912 the company was converted into acompany and changed to Optische Werke AGrenamed. In the mid-20s, Schütz merged with Ruf & Co.Until WW II, the lettering on the lid was Schütz Ruf & Co.Kassel. The post-war models of the 50s were onlylabeled with Schütz Kassel. As in the early 20s, the company logo is only on SchützKassel. There is no longer a connection to Ruf & Co.The post-war glasses have no serial number. The parameter is 20x56. 20x magnification at 56mmObjective. The binoculars are made of lightweight aluminumand weighs just 840 g. The optics are coated. TheBinoculars have excellent optical performance. This information was taken off of a German Museum's web site.The two Porro II prisms are not cemented togetherbut separated by a black paper. Even forexperienced specialists is a realignment of the remoteglasses a challenge.
