TS 12. Oil and Hydraulic LinesOil and hydraulic lines shall be compatible with the substances they carry. The lines shall be designed and intended foruse in the environment where they are installed (for example, high-temperature resistant in the engine compartment,resistant to road salts near the road surface and so on). Lines within the engine compartment shall be composed ofsteel tubing where practicable, except in locations where flexible lines are required.Hydraulic lines of the same size and with the same fittings as those on other piping systems of the bus, but notinterchangeable, shall be tagged or marked for use on the hydraulic system only.STRUCTURETS 13. GeneralTS 13.1 DesignThe structure of the bus shall be designed to withstand the transit service conditions typical of an urban or intercityduty cycle throughout its service life. The vehicle structural frame shall be designed to operate with minimalmaintenance throughout the 10-year design operating profile. The design operating profile specified by Forte shallbe considered for this purpose.TS 14. Altoona TestingPrior to acceptance of first bus, the vehicle must have completed any FTA-required Altoona testing. Any items thatrequired repeated repairs or replacement must undergo the corrective action with supporting test and analysis. Areport clearly describing and explaining the failures and corrective actions taken to ensure that any and all suchfailures will not occur shall be submitted to Forte.
