To illustrate the complexity of a spectrum, we present inFig. 3 the range 550 to 900 keV for aluminum. The only majorcapture line is the large peak at 585 keV which comes from25Mg and has a yield of 3.3%. In addition there are threeneutron edges at 595.8 keV from 74Ge, 691.4 keV from 72Ge,and 834.0 keV also from 72Ge, a background (2p-1s) muonicline from chlorine at 579 keV, and a major background line at844 keV, caused by the reaction 27Al(n, n) as well as 27Mgbeta decay. Furthermore the line at 787 keV has not been
