8:56:21Personnel is the most important factor in the hotel and catering business. The quality of the product is largely defined by the quality of the personnel. It is one of the most important management tasks to employ people in such a way that the goals of the company are reached optimally. On the one hand this means that a lot of attention has to be paid to the acquisition of good personnel (personnel management) has to be conscious choice. To be a good manager one has to know how to motivate employees, in other words: which needs and aims do the employees have? People work to meet their physical and psychological needs and avoid matters that frustrate their needs. For one employee this means earning a lot of money, for another many contacts with people of varied work. Every employee will show the conduct with which he can reach his aim and satisfy his needs. When somebody starts to work in a company the first thing he is interested in is the company and his position in it as far as it helps him to reach his own aims. To involve people in the company, the company plan and the company aims, the manager has to show them the link between reaching their own aim and aspiring to the companys aim.
