Thank you to everyone who applied to serve on the Positive Discipline Association Board of Directors. There were over 140 applicants for the two open positions. We are pleased to announce that Ágúst Jakobsson from Reykjavik, Iceland has accepted a position effective November 2019. Ágúst graduated with a teaching degree in 1995. For the past 14 years, he has worked as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. In 2008, Ágúst was hired as a principal and had the opportunity to become the first school in Iceland to implement Positive Discipline. Soon, other schools followed and now there are over 30 Positive Discipline Schools in Iceland. Ágúst was one of the founders of the Positive Discipline Affiliate in Iceland. He has a degree in school administration and is currently studying teachers' counseling at the University of Iceland. Ágúst is married with three children who are 15, 17 and 21 years old. His contributions forming the Iceland Affiliate as well as the translation of required core workshop materials have been substantial.
Núria Rodríguez Font from Barcelona, Spain will serve as a Board Member starting spring 2020. Among Núria's many contributions she has served on the Spain affiliate Board and will be a Think Tank Planner in 2020. Watch for more information on Núria when she begins her term in March.
