Please see below the notes/comments from our engineering team.The system requires almost all the duty during all the year. So it isn’t possible to work with one tower during wintertime and two towers during summertime.If you prefer to buy two towers, you have to consider that both will work continuously. Also consider the fact that these towers work outdoor with a minimum temperature that could reach -40°C. So these 2 towers need to be fully drainable, for being sure that all the water flows back to the pump basin, when the recirculating pump (P-871) stops.Also take into account, dealing with the tower supplier, that all the components need to be designed for a minimum temperature of -40°C. Discuss with the supplier if it is necessary the winter protection (for example the fan ring heater).Check also with the supplier the possibility to have manually adjustable louvers, for reducing the cold air suction during the winter period.The refill of the water will be done inside the pumps basin and not inside the tower basin. So the connection, indicated as “Automatic/manual replenishment” and having a size of 25/40 mm, will be plugged.For reference please see also the P&ID A080P002 rev.2, already in your hands attached for your prompt reference.The piping of the water-return has to be sloping with a diameter DN200. Please note that the distances between the cooling towers and the basin are pretty long. For this we suggest you to install the cooling towers at a minimum height of +250 mm from the ground due to the pressure drop of the routing.Please also consider that as per the attached layout, and according to the routing of the pipes you’ve to check the position of the pipes, on the side or upper the MCC room. If you choose the routing upper the MCC room (+3400), of course the installation of the cooling towers have to be considered accordingly. It depends on the choosed routing.
