In the event of a black out a "quick recovery" fuel system is to be provided by use of solenoid operated (power fail open) valves feeding MGO under head pressure from a tank in the EDG room. Alternatively, in each engine room, this emergency fuel supply can be provided by a pneumatic pump with dedicated air bottle sufficient for 5 minutes running of the pump or an electric pump with UPS also sufficient for 5 minutes running. Design and selection of system to be adopted to be agreed between Builder, Engine Supplier and Owner. If technically feasible the blackout valve option is to be fitted. Supply line from the additional fuel oil pressurized unit is to be provided with fail activated valves, capable to switch over the supply to DDGG from main booster when black out occurs.
