First, we consider the case that the first sensor hasdetected a vehicle. Whenever it has finished the detectionprocess, a data object is created which contains the startand end times. Subsequently, the registers associated to thissensor are initialized for detection of the following vehicleand a first detection timer is created and initiated. Thedetection timer has an expiration time as threshold parameter. Its purpose is to give to sensor 2 an upper time limitfor detecting the same vehicle. If the time limit is exceeded,the algorithm assumes that sensor 2 was unable to capturethe vehicle.
