Additionally, when mothers who had discontinued breastfeeding were asked to identify factors that would have encouraged breastfeeding longer, 73.5 percent of mothers identified more teaching from nurses in the hospital, 80.0 percent of mothers identified more information from doctor of doctor’s office before delivery, and 95.4 percent of mothers identified more information from prenatal classes (Arora, McJunkin, Wehrer, & Kuhn, 2000).
