When developing such systems, a base of reference data values is required for the diagnostic system to subsequentlycompare the current values in order to detect deviations.We believe that the most suitable way of creating a database of values and reference data would be to use simulationwith a combination of virtual and physical elements. What makes this technology unique is its use of real brake driveelements, which allows it to monitor system status directly; when combined with a mathematical description of therelevant process dynamics, this also ensures a perfect reproducibility.This type of simulation makes it possible to combine all physically viable devices of the automated braking systemwith a mathematical model of vehicle performance to identify the values of diagnostic parameters and diagnosticindicators. The values obtained are subsequently used for operating system’s diagnostic unit algorithm.
