Spinosaurus would have difficulty hunting on land to begin with. The small hindlimbs, awkward gait, and long cylindrical body would be ineffective at hauling its 10 tonne frame around at any speed greater than most sauropods. The only evidence of Spinosaurus feeding on land animals is through scavenging. In 2020, a cervical vertebrae of a large theropod was found to have bite marks and an embedded tooth that appears to be from Spinosaurus.
