According to the two cases that the pressure of podium acting on the basement is not less than or less than the water buoyancy of the basement, the influence of podium on the calculation of foundation bearing capacity of the main building under the action of water buoyancy is deduced and analyzed. The results show that the characteristic value of the equivalent foundation bearing capacity varies with the buoyancy of the foundation bottom when the types of soil under the foundation are different. In the first case, the characteristic value of the equivalent foundation bearing capacity tends to decrease with the increase of the foundation bottom water buoyancy; in the second case, the characteristic value of the equivalent foundation bearing capacity tends to increase with the increase of the foundation bottom water buoyancy. According to the different types of soil, the characteristic value of the equivalent foundation bearing capacity tends to increase and decrease respectively. This paper suggests that the influence of groundwater should be considered when checking the bearing capacity of foundation, and the final value should be considered comprehensively.<br>
