In the present study, the surfaces of UHMCFs were electrochemically oxidized and changes in the corresponding physicochemicalstructures were investigated. Longitudinal ridges and striations onUHMCF surfaces became well-defined and a large extent of oxygencontaining functional groups was introduced onto fiber surfaces afterelectrochemical oxidation. The results of the XRD revealed that changesin the structural parameters of UHMCFs were not obvious betweenuntreated and oxidized samples, which proved that electrochemicaloxidation only had an impact on the surfaces of UHMCFs. However, anobvious increase followed by decreases happened to the ID/IG ratiobased on the Raman spectra results
