Although the number of studies evaluating long-term outcomes of MMA surgery is still limited, long-term results appear relatively stable over follow-up periods exceeding 2 to 5 years. In addition, several studies found statistically and clinically significant improvements in blood pressure following MMA surgery in OSA patients. Finally, evidence for the medium to long-term stability of the skeletal advancements with MMA surgery in OSAS patients has been corroborated by several cephalometric studies.
