The tenth question and the fourteenth question are about the way of giving cultural instructions in reading class. From the fourteenth question, it can be seen that 70.3% of the students reflect that their teachers give cultural instruction by explaining the vocabulary with cultural connotations and 26.6% of them hold that their teachers introduce foreign culture by the comparison. A few of the teachers give instruction by role-play and working in groups. From the tenth question, we can see that 30.7% of the students hold that their teachers have explained some words with cultural connotation by connecting with certain cultural background and 29.7% of them think their teachers usually compare the foreign culture and the native culture to explain this kind of words. From this aspect, we can see that most teachers are able to pay attention to the cultural backgroundknowledge of the word with cultural connotations. However, there are 13% of the students think that they are not taught anything of the cultural connotations of the words, thus, it is also necessary for some teachers to pay more attention to the words with cultural connotation. From these three questions, it can be concluded that vocabulary is an important link between cultural instruction and language teaching because most teachers give cultural instructions through explaining the words directly which is seen as the most time-saving method. Moreover, plenty of the teachers still prefer the traditional teaching methods rather than giving some cultural instructions and doing role-play in reading class. This result reflects that it is necessary for the English teachers to try new teaching methods to cater for their students
