"Noticing" is a commonly used concept in cognitive psychology. "Attention" refers to the brain's behavior in information processing, extracting an object from several objects that appear at the same time, and processing it (William, 1890). Schmidt believes that "attention" means that learners consciously and focus on the input language features, and emphasizes that attention is a sufficient and necessary psychological condition for learners' language acquisition. Attention can refer to both the conscious focus on the formal features of language input and the recognition of the difference between the language input and the language output generated by the learner (Zhang Siwu, 2009).
