The change of global urban industrial structure leads to the change of labor demand structure. The demand for professional and non professional labor force in global cities is increasing at the same time. High level service industry and general service industry coexist in global cities. Advanced service industry is a professional high-income service industry, while the general service industry is mostly low skilled, low-income service industry. This change in industrial structure has led to social polarization and duality in the global urban labor market (short et al., 1993, P. 207). Immigrants meet the demand of global cities for professional and non professional labor, and bring sufficient labor resources to the dual labor market of global cities.
