Finished AppearanceWhere the finished product will be subject to aesthetic appearance criteria then the sub-contractor shall ensure that the goods are manufactured using either:oAll hot rolled plate and/or sheet or oAll cold rolled plate and/or sheet.A mixture of hot and cold rolled material will be unacceptable.Dressing of stainless steel or aluminium fabrications with power hand tools is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. It is considered that good engineering practice can ensure that all welding can be carried out using commercially available proprietary elements such as anti-spatter spray to avoid the use of any dressing materials. The following are typical examples of dressing requirements:oRemoval of all burrs and sharp edges.oRemoval of all weld spatter, slag, flux, dirt, grease, oil and any other foreign matter.oRepair of arc strikes and flashing.oChemical cleaning of weld discolouration.oAll stainless steel fabrications shall be finished to the same overall appearance. oWhere chemical cleaning methods are either impractical or unsuitable for other reasons then the Company may specify the use of sand or glass bead blast processes.oAll stainless steel fabrications shall be finished to the same overall appearance.
