Unlike the cases of the above two technological experiences, a much smaller proportion of the interview partici- pants reported engaging in technological experiences for social purposes. Among those who did report such experiences, using technological resources to practice the language and to troubleshoot language problems were the primary activities reported in this category. Only a limited few used related technological resources to connect with native speakers of the language and to interact with others for the purpose of daily-life communication and social exchange. The technological tools used in social-oriented technological experiences included Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Line, online forums and language learning social networking sites.
