It is of great theoretical and practical significance to study new organic-inorganic hybrid ferroelectric materials based on kaolinite. Kaolinite / 2-pyrazine carboxylic acid intercalation compound was prepared in autoclave with 2-pyrazine carboxylic acid as the guest. The product was characterized by XRD, IR and TG, and its ferroelectric properties were tested. The possible intercalation structure was obtained by the optimization of CASTEP program. The results showed that 2-pyrazine carboxylic acid molecules could be intercalated into kaolinite layer for 10 hours in a self pressurized system at 160 ℃, and the intercalation rate reached 42.73%. The guest molecules are oriented almost vertically between the kaolinite layers, resulting in the intercalation compounds showing room temperature ferroelectricity under the action of external electric field. In addition, the intercalation compound has certain thermal stability(<br>
