This is a technical question. If you say to the patient: “you would like to be omnipotent but you know that you cannot open the door”, the child can feel this as an accusation and understand that you are tell- ing him from a pedagogical perspective: “Well, in truth, you are a very small child.” We must try to find a technique for interpretation of what is real and conscious, just like we have found what this would be for the unconscious material.
