(4) Previous work indicates that LPSO phase can be helpful forimproving the corrosion resistance of Mg alloys. However, further studies demonstrate that the corrosion properties ofLPSO containing Mg alloys are related to the distribution, morphology and volume fraction of LPSO phases. As forwhether it has a critical requirement for their existing state toensure a better corrosion resistance, so far, no relevant research work can be referred. Therefore, deep investigationsare still needed to be further performed as for the effect ofLPSO phase on the corrosion behavior of Mg alloys.(5) Currently, Mg alloys being used as biodegradable implant materials become one of the hottest topics. Although theLPSO-containing Mg alloys can have excellent properties interms of mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, theirapplication for the implant materials requires the excellentcombined properties, including biocompatibility, mechanicalproperties, and corrosion performance as well as the betterloading-bearing capability [79]. Therefore, the future workabout the application of the LPSO-containing alloys being asthe biomaterials should focus on the improvement of theircombined properties
