This part mainly gave a sample of how to apply Multiple Intelligences Theory to English vocabulary teaching in practical teaching. The author took the first unit in Grade 8 as the teaching example. The materials all came from Go for it. (1) The application of linguistic intelligence in vocabulary teaching Linguistic intelligence refers ones ability to use language in special and creative ways, which is something lawyers, writers, editors, and interpreters are strong in. We can apply linguistic intelligence in vocabulary teaching by the way of lecture, small and large group discussion, word games, listening to cassettes or talking books. From this activities students can debates and tell story in order to strengthen the vocabulary they have learn. For examples :the teacher can choose a few vocabularies from Unit 1( Where did you go on vacation ? ) . Like hen, pig, bird, feel like, enough, hungry, something. The teacher assigned task to the students : Make a short story buy those words and tell them if they met the unknown vocabulary just looked up the dictionary. Few minutes later, the students can made up themselves story like that: “ Winter is coming, the animals hardly to find food so all of them feel very hungry. A hen, two pigs and three birds decided to work together to find something to eat in the juggle. Just as the words says more hands make a little work, after fewer hours they found enough food to eat. All of them were felt very happy.” From this way students can use the knowledge they have known to help them learn new vocabulary. This is also a way to help students remember vocabulary deeply. The teacher can also divide students into different groups to make up story by the vocabulary they learned and show for their classmates. (2) The application of logical/mathematical intelligence in vocabulary teaching Logical/mathematical is the ability to think rationally, often found with doctors, engineers, programmers, and scientists. We can apply logical/mathematical intelligence in vocabulary teaching by the way of demonstrating scientific data, giving students logic problems and puzzles from which students can calculations.
