This research intends to analyze the current situation of the application of teachers' questioning str ategies in English reading class in primary school in the rural-urban fringe by questionnaire, classroom o bservation and interview. Furthermore, it summarizes the problems that existing in the application of que stioning strategies and provides some suggestions to enhance the efficiency of English classroom learni ng in the rural-urban fringe. Firstly, the findings of this research are expected to promote further development of study on this t heme. At present, most researches focus on the process of language input and output, but fewer conce ntrate on the importance of questioning strategies for language input and internal comprehending. Basin g on the relevant theories and research results of teachers' questioning strategies, this research explore s the practical application of teachers' questioning strategies in primary school English classes in the rur al-urban fringe. It can further enrich the relevant theories of English teacher questioning at the stage of basic education, promote the combination of English teaching theory and English teaching practice, and provide theoretical guidance for English teachers' professional development.
