The AFX is powered on using the reset switch of the unit, or by pressing the B button if it is in Hibernate mode or automatically by applying USB power when the battery is empty.Prior to using the AFX for the first time, you will need to configure it for use with your type of camera, which is selected in the SETUP MENU.Please refer to the POWER ON SEQUENCE section of this User Guide to ensure that you are powering the camera, R1, AFX and peripherals in the correct order. When you power on the AFX unit, you can access the SETUP MENU during the period that the message above is on screen by pressing the A button. The process for selecting your camera control type is described in the next section of the User Guide.IMPORTANT - After each reboot and re-connection of the R1, it must then be initialised to be used with the AFX. This is done by holding down the Mode button on the R1 and then pressing the C button whilst still holding the Mode button down. The R1 LED will flash once to indicate that it has initialised and you can then release both buttons.
