Where several studies of a common job exist, the data base can be queried to produce generic competency models (e.g., for health care managers, High-Tec salespersons, or internal trainer/consultants). Data-base queries can test similarities among different levels of a job family, different types of jobs, or job studies from different environments. For example, competencies for superior performance in similar jobs are found to be essentially the same everywhere in the world.
