Nowadays, non-renewable energy sources are declining rapidly and the use of tools and new technology requires a lot of energy and a lot of time and resources. They also require costly maintenance; the manufactured artifacts have a lot of rubbish and contaminants that are difficult to recycle. Using renewable energy sources and low cost with the least pollution can help to reduce the consumption of non-renewable energy sources and reduce environmental pollution. One of these sources is wind energy.In this dissertation, research and study has been done on wind-catchers, especially wind-catchers in Yazd, to get acquainted with wind-catchers and their working method, express generalities and theoretical explanations, Construction method and operation of several types of wind catchers along with real photos and schematic images, charts and diagrams.These include the advantages of using clean energy such as wind energy, wind-catchers construction method, materials required for wind-catchers construction and various wind-catchers components, advantages of using wind catchers and comparison of parameters created when using wind catchers and comparing them with the optimal standard parameters.Also, a comparison of the advantages of using natural ventilation compared to mechanical ventilation, in which four environmental parameters and three personal parameters have been studied, which indicates the relationship between the temperatures that people try to achieve in their presence, and there is the amount of energy used in the building. Also, natural ventilators, according to their function, can be classified into: wind, solar and both wind and solar.
