Inclusions: Foreign particles and non metallic inclusions should be kept to a minimum due to decreased strength in all castings. More importantly, the substance may have a detrimental effect on cutting tools and finishes. The Die Caster is expected to use equipment and practices that minimize oxidation, avoid entrainment and remove particulate by fluxing or filtration. Good shop practices that include clean scrap of the same composition, reduced agitation of metal during transfer and frequent checks for quality material.
