3.3.2 Training Methods and ProcessesThe appropriate training method depends on what is being taught. The methods and processes for teaching motor skills are much different than those for teaching ideas and values. Motor responsesTo help a learner develop appropriate motor responses, the trainer should follow this pattern1.Familiarize the trainee with the equipment materials, and surroundings2. Demonstrate the activity3.Let the trainee begin practicing the activity.4.Provide adequate guidance and feedback to make sure that incorrect responses are eliminated and correct responses are acquired. Verbal instructions may help to explain what the learner is doing wrong and what he or she needs to do differently but physical demonstrations, showing exactly what needs to be done, are much more helpful.
