The aim of this study was to evaluate the electro-kinetic/ultrasonic/persulfate (EK/US/PS) process efficiency for textile wastewater treatment. The concentration of persulfate (0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.25, 1.5 mM), reaction time (30, 60, 90 and 120 min were studied consecutively, according to one factor at the time methodology. Result was indicated that the highest removal efficiency of 38% was achieved at pH 5. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency at electrolyte concentration of 6, 8 and 10 g/L were 56, 58 and 59% respectively. Results were showed that by increasing the ultrasonic power up to 300 W, the removal efficiency increased from 78 to 96% at a reaction time of 90 min and from 92 to 96% at a reaction time of 120 min. The correlation coefficient for pseudo-first-order kinetic model and pseudo-second-order kinetic models were obtained 0.96 and 0.87, respectively. Therefore, according to the results of this study, it was suggested to use EK/US/PS process for treatment of textile wastewater.
