When I was an undergraduate, my major was e-commerce. But now I'm majoring in library science。I think library science is an all-inclusive discipline, which has cross links with different disciplines. At the same time, it is constantly changing under the influence of the times. My current research field is reading promotion, mainly studying the reading promotion of libraries in new media.With the development and maturity of the mobile Internet and new technologies, new communication methods have emerged. The library also followed the trend of the times and applied these methods to the library. From the initial WeChat official accounts to the current short video and live stream, they actually belong to a form of communication in the field of new media. The most popular means of communication are short videos and live stream. They have the advantages of strong expressiveness, fast communication speed, high user stickiness, and fast information transmission. At present, the articles of library science on the use of short video or live stream for reading promotion mainly take the public library as the research object to explore its operation, service, communication strength and marketing strategy on the short video platform, so as to put forward suggestions or enlightenments. Among them, Niu Guoqiang believes that short video platforms have great application prospects in library reading promotion. It can be used as a traffic entrance for libraries to attract "potential readers", and it can also promote "self-media" reading promotion. At the same time, its algorithm can achieve "find people for books" and high penetration rate "fragmented" reading promotion.However, as far as the actual effect of short video platform promotion is concerned, due to various deficiencies, the library's use of short videos for reading promotion is not effective. Most libraries are not equipped with corresponding personnel and facilities, and cannot support them to use short videos for reading promotion. There are also many libraries that are still mainly responsible for the promotion of traditional reading, without realizing the importance of new communication methods, or even opening accounts. It can be seen that there is still a long way to go for libraries to promote reading in the field of new media.During my investigation, I found that few people studied the status quo of library reading promotion by using short videos from the perspective of self-media people. Self-media people have a large number of fans and traffic in short videos. In terms of reading promotion, their short videos can reach over 10,000 likes in a short period of time. Their likes, comments and retweets are far more impressive than those of library account videos. In the live stream, the conversion rate of book sales also proves that self-media people are worth studying in reading promotion. Therefore, I think studying the reading promotion of short video platform from the perspective of we-media people will also give some inspiration to the library to use short video for reading promotion. As a result, I conducted a survey of self-media people with more than 100w fans related to reading promotion on the Douyin platform, and mainly analyzed three aspects of their video content expression, communication effect and live broadcast conversion, so as to summarize the self-media people’s short video reading promotion service experience in order to help the library improve the way of reading promotion, so as to better serve readers and enhance the actual effect of library reading promotion service.
