The steel slag contains Cao, MgO, FeO, Fe2O3 and other components. The sum of these components can be up to 70%. At the same time, these components are also useful in the manufacture of cement. The main function of the steel slag as the cement raw material is as the iron calibrator of the cement. At present, the proportion of raw materials is 3-5%, and the process ratio is relatively mature. In the process of cement production,1 t of limestone is burned to produce 440 kg of co2, which needs 500 kcal of heat for 1 t of clinker, and 230 kg of high-quality coal is required for burning 1 t of clinker. The addition of the steel slag to the cement raw material can save the limestone and the coal, but the characteristics of the coal burning can not fundamentally eliminate the negative effect of the steel slag on the energy and the environment protection. The content of the total iron in the steel slag is between 15 and 28 percent, and the iron content is low. At the cost of the calculation, cement-producing enterprises tend to select other slag with an iron-containing amount of more than 40%.
