In the femoral shaft, torsional malalignment affects thefunctional outcome of patients, so various methods of preventingtorsional malalignment have been suggested [3,4]. Rotationalmalalignment is not rare in trochanteric fracture, and may cause anincrease in functional problems or complications. Few studies onthe effects of torsional malalignment on functional outcomes andon its risk factors have been reported so far. In this study, wehyphothesised that malalignment would be highly frequent andsignificant in the treatment of trochanteric fracture.
