Gynostemma pentaphyllum, also known as heaven grass, evangelical grass, five leaf ginseng and seven leaf ginseng, etc., is a perennial grass climbing Liana of Cucurbitaceae and gynostemma pentaphyllum, which can be used as medicine for the whole grass. Among them, Gynostemma pentaphyllum saponin is the main effective component, with pharmacological activities such as liver protection, detoxification, blood pressure reduction, blood lipid reduction and blood glucose reduction.
In this paper, on the basis of optimizing the extraction process of total saponin content in Gynostemma pentaphyllum, the differences of total saponin content in cultivated and wild varieties were compared. Orthogonal test was used to optimize the ultrasonic extraction conditions of Gypenosides. The extraction amount of total saponins was determined as the index to optimize the extraction process. Finally, the optimal extraction was determined under the conditions of 80% ethanol concentration, 60 minutes of extraction time, 3 times of extraction and 1:40 g / ml of material / liquid ratio. The average content of Gypenosides in cultivated Gynostemma pentaphyllum is 7.56%, which is higher than that in wild Gynostemma Pentaphyllum by 5.81%. It can be seen that the research on Cultivation Technology of Gynostemma pentaphyllum has achieved remarkable results, and the wild resources of Gynostemma pentaphyllum still have development potential.
Keywords: Gynostemma pentaphyllum; total saponins; orthogonal design; ultrasonic extraction
