Diane Baumrind (1991, 1996) based on his own research, put forward the famous theory of parenting style. She conducted longitudinal research on 100 preschool children (mainly from European-American middle-class families). Through observations of children and parents and interviews with parents, Baumrind and colleagues found that four different parenting methods can be divided according to the different levels of parental care and control. Authoritative type-high care, high control; authoritarian type-low care, high control; indulgent type-high care, low control; neglected type-low care, low control. Through research, we believe that warm care and strict rules must be enough to be the best way of upbringing.
