To Anna,At Flex, part of our mission is to make great products for our customers that contribute positively to the world and steward sustainable manufacturing and operations to minimize our environmental impact. As we advance our vision of sustainability, including environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), we want to share some exciting news with you.In the coming weeks, we intend on joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the global movement of leading companies working to mitigate climate change according to the Paris Agreement. This is an important stake in the ground for Flex, and reflects our unwavering commitment to doing the right thing not only for our stakeholders but for the environment. As a preferred supplier, you play a crucial role in the next chapter of our sustainability journey. As part of our long-term sustainability commitments, Flex is looking forward to partnering to contribute to a cleaner, healthier future, focusing on curbing emissions throughout the value chain. As such, we are asking for a commitment from our preferred suppliers to set their own greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets by 2025.We rely on the trust, collaboration and commitment of the work we do together to responsibly design and manufacture products that improve people’s lives, and we are excited to extend this partnership to help address the realities of climate change. As part of this initiative, we are partnering with CDP, a non-profit organization working with some of the world’s largest companies to manage their environmental impact. Within the next couple of weeks, CDP will be reaching out to your organization to share more information about reporting carbon emissions through an annual disclosure.Additionally, our procurement and supply chain sustainability team will be in touch soon to provide more details about setting greenhouse gas targets and answer any questions you may have. Our objective is to offer training, guidance and partnership and help contribute to this important initiative. Please note, that your Global Commodity Manager is informed of this effort and will be able to provide further information, if needed. We appreciate your partnership and look forward to sharing more about Flex’s sustainability strategy and goals with you over the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact your Global Commodity Manager or you can send feedback to Flex GPSC Sustainability.Regards,Lynn TorrelChief Procurement & Supply Chain Officer
