Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) A MSDS must be provided by the manufacturer or supplier for every hazardous material. These sheets must be available to workers in their workplace. They contain much more than the information on a WHMIS label, such as: • ingredients • physical / chemical characteristics • fire and explosion hazards • reactivity • health hazards • precautions for safe handling and use • control measures • transportation • disposal See Appendix D for an example of a MSDS.
