Mind map is a useful and interesting method in the teaching of English reading. In recent years, mind map has become a hot topic in English teaching, and many studies have testified the effectiveness of mind map. In this occasion, mind map is adopted by many teachers to improve the teaching efficiency and learners’ reading ability. Mind map is a mind tool which takes advantages of lines, codes, words and images to store, construct, optimize and output information. In addition, mind map can help learners transform the sterile and complicated information into a well-organized form. However, there are few studies about the current situation and existing problems in the application of mind map to the teaching of English reading. This research is designed to find some problems in the application of mind map and try to give some suggestions to achieve a better application of mind map to the teaching of English reading.
