Autoclave temperatures are expected to remove low molecular weight siloxanes, especially if headspace is significant. High temperature treatments are probably more effective at removing these materials than solubilization in water (at least without agitation), since they have very low water solubilities. In fact, for species larger than D6, solubilities cannot even be measured. At 23˚C, D4 solubility is < 60 ppb in water, and D5 solubility is about 17 ppb
