I truly enjoy this collection, but thought I should note that the sound of the recordings do reflect their age a little (1970's). I'm always leary of old recordings that get rebranded and rereleased, appearing to be newer than they actually are. Fortunately, the violin here does not have the tinny, thin, and hissy sound of truly old recordings. The presence and and sense of space seem only slightly constrained. Once I get lost in Accardo's magnifcent playing, I forget all about the minor sound complaints.
